The expectation was that the Muslim World’s economic disconnectedness had to solve the inherent religious and Jihad=violence problem by itself. And if the Young Men have work to do, their recruitment into Al Quida Jihadism with growing literacy might be stymied.

We can now see Trump’s decade long efforts with the Abraham Accords as the fruit of Barnett’s Grand Strategy. Only Iran looms to end Middle East conflicts, because the Arab Gulf nations want peace — the benefits are so lucrative, and thus the costs of ending the last global Jihad state worth bearing with through Trump’s war.

But “The Pentagon’s New Map Map” strategy has been buried and forgotten, and the young and stupid joined in the George W Bush and Evil Tony Blair blame game, as has Trump, in part.

Barnett had a fairly sound successor strategy, after the policy of Containment and waiting out the Soviets bore the fruit of collapse by 1992.

The period from the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the collapse of the Soviet Union was 70+ years. A similar length of time has passed since Red China’s founding in 1949.

Is China vulnerable to a collapse that parallels the Soviet’s fate?

A fresh look at China’s declining future and exploring this historical parallel is chewed over here, “Why China Is The Last USSR” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGEqMOAfwp8

Food for thought because we see China facing “the same choices in the same order as the Soviets did.”

My YT algorithm from this link then went to the Strategic and Cold War historian Sarah Paine’s (US Naval War College in Newport) talk, culminating in the same considerations, but rooted in the themes of how Imperialist Soviet Union repeatedly sabotaged the rise of China, in a run up to the later clash of Communist nuclear super-powers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RH_ycZYH8-s

Ah! My detailed reply about Stefan Molyneux got timed out!
He was a leading based voice on the Rightside of the podcast world, before Jordan Peterson usurped that role.

I listened to him frequently for years, but before Covid.

He was demonetised and shrank back from political opining, to a more psychologically based critique of the human condition.

His intellectual roots were Ayn Rand’s neo-Aristotelian philosophy of Objectivism. Therefore, an atheist. But between growing older and becoming a father, and after his study in European intellect history, became a libertarian. Yet he evolved into a based neo-classical liberalism.

His move into evolutionary psychology commentary coincided with, or maybe was motivated by, becoming a father. Parenthood certainly ought to be so salutary!

As for Wiki and the SPLC on Molyneux, they are scare gaslighting anti-right sources of the Morally Superior kind. In general, but also especially to Stefan because of his popularity online.

And YES AesopFan! After 911, Mark Steyn wrote about the dark future where only the US might resist Islamic takeover in his book “America Alone,”

It was a painful look at times besetting us now. I knew it was coming then, but we were then most worried about the Muslim World’s economic disconnectedness, ergo Thomas P. M. Barnett’s “The Pentagon’s New Map” grand strategy to integrate the unconnected world through trade, and thereby prevent radicalisation of the climactic youth cohort within Islam, who are fodder for radical Islam.

Are young western women waking up to threat posed bi Islamic takeover of our communities? Maybe. What’s interesting is that these are the same demographic supporting The Left
-far Left Greens and Islamism. As we all know, the Ruling Class assertion of racist or Islamophobe is used to shut down voices on this issue.

This is the topic The Cyberpunk Dingo opens up by sharing a couple of brief videos by young women aged 39s to 30. This youngish YouTuber has a huge Aussie accent, handsome Persian looks, and is an ex-Muslim. And because Muslims are “so peaceful,” as he sarcastically writes, he hides his face below his eyes with a serious mask.

To open, he lets a video by an American from X.com speaks her full 6 minutes. It’s gotten a half million views and stirred up many reactions. Then he echoes her complaints because they are the same as on his own YT channel. Such as Muslims dog phobia spreading into takeover of public spaces.

A shorter segment has a young woman in London — apparently some media personality — echo one select concern that she feels. Namely, unsafe around leering or whistling or following immigrant (Muslim) men. Raising fears for her own safety on the street.

This is all a piece of Harvard sociologist’s reluctantly reported findings 20 years ago: that diversity in demographic change kills social trust. And in the West, social trust is a paramount value.

“Young Western Women Are FINALLY Openly Speaking About Islam...And Muslims Are FURIOUS!” — posted Monday night. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCMjUDvh2Ks

SUBSTANTIAL EXCERPT from The Cyberpunk Dingo’s video description:
“A young American woman has gone viral after stepping outside her usual content to raise concerns about Islam, mass migration, women’s rights and the cultural changes she believes are happening around her. In this video, we examine her arguments, why her message resonated with so many people, and the growing willingness of women to openly discuss subjects once considered politically taboo. We also look at the tension between progressive politics, Islamism and liberal Western values, particularly when it comes to women’s freedom, safety and freedom of expression.”

Is this a sign of things to come? So late…so overdue?

Thanks to AesopFan and Bob Wilson for your comments and shared thoughts about this.

On Tuesday, I’ll have more to share about a June debate on Islam as a threat to the West, and a forthcoming debate in London on the same subject, set for the next September 9/11 anniversary.

In this short you will see a bulldog skateboard!

Wild, fun, insane, real. I've watched the longer YouTubes.

The owner saw his bulldog playing with a skateboard. The owner got a custom wide board for the bulldog. Now all the dog wants to do is skateboard. He's stoked!

He's quite good actually. He can turn, go up and down ramps, take a break to go sniff a human skater's ankles, then back to the board.

A low center of gravity helps.

In re Stefan Basil Molyneux -- ("Not to be confused with Stephen Molyneux.")

According to Wikipedia, he is " is an Irish-born Canadian white nationalist [2][3][4][5][6] vlogger and proponent of conspiracy theories, white supremacy, [7][8] scientific racism, and the men's rights movement. [15] He is the founder of the Freedomain Radio..."

I do note that the primary sources headlined by Wikipedia's editors (who have long been accused of a leftist bias, and deserve the complaint) include NBC, BBC, NYT, WaPo, the Independent, The Guardian, and so forth.

And, per the SPLC, is "A libertarian internet commentator and alleged cult leader who amplifies "scientific racism," eugenics and white supremacism to a massive new audience, Stefan Molyneux operates within the racist so-called "alt-right" and pro-Trump ranks."

He claims the following for himself at freedomain.com: "Stefan Molyneux is the host of the largest and most popular philosophy show online, with over 600 million downloads. He has a Masters in History, writes books, gives speeches and debates on topics such as liberty, politics, economics and parenting."

He attracted one of my own favorite luminaries, but Peterson will talk to anyone anywhere anytime about anything (or did when he was healthy).
"What is the reason behind the drift of western culture into empty nihilistic materialistic hedonism? Dr. Jordan Peterson joins Stefan Molyneux to discuss the complicated nature of cultural division, the reduction of personal responsibility, the danger of not "having meaning" in your life, the nature of ideology, developing a sense of efficacy in the world, suffering as an intrinsic component to human nature, the argument for free will and much more!"

Even after reading the full Wikipedia article, I have no unambiguous information other than that he was born in Ireland, lives in Canada, and has a prominent podcast presence.

As for the "information" about what he supports....
YMMW and caveat emptor and all that stuff.

However, he is not wrong about this:
22. “The continual manufacture of enemies is essential to the growth of the fascist state.”

@ TJ AND Bob Wilson In re the Migrant Crisis in the EU:
In scanning the headlines at the Irish Times (going back to the beginning of 2026), maybe they are just cherry-picking the "antimigrant backlash" stories, but I am reminded of something JFK said (he's looking better in retrospect, but nonetheless did his part to start the Left-leaning slag heap toward its tipping point).

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."
--
Address to Latin American diplomats at the White House (13 March 1962)
John F. Kennedy (First anniversary of the Alliance for Progress)

His speech was meant to encourage South and Middle American governments to make reforms that would improve the lives of their citizens.
What some of them eventually got (with or without improvements being made) was Marxist dictators.

It's a good maxim though.

Mark Steyn has a similar proverb that also is appropriate to much of the modern world, especially in relation to the immigrant invasion crises.
"If the political culture forbids respectable politicians from raising certain issues, then the electorate will turn to unrespectable ones."

At the extreme, if you drive all the reasonable people out of the political space, you will indeed have to deal with the unreasonable ones. I used to quote that one a lot in the early days of the constant refrain: "How did we get Donald Trump as President?"

Moving on to the travails of the Democrat Party vs the Socialist Democrats of America, and the nascent rebellion of some of the Inner Circle:
“Those who make conversations impossible, make escalation inevitable.”
— Stefan Molyneux

I'm sensing a trend in quips here.

I had to do some research on Molyneux, whose name I did not recognize.
He is a controversial figure to say the least.
That's what you get when you just search the internet for interesting quotes.

It’s a good maxim though.

Mark Steyn has a similar proverb that also is appropriate to much of the modern world, especially in relation to the immigrant invasion crises.
“If the political culture forbids respectable politicians from raising certain issues, then the electorate will turn to unrespectable ones.”

At the extreme, if you drive all the reasonable people out of the political space, you will indeed have to deal with the unreasonable ones. I used to quote that one a lot in the early days of the constant refrain: “How did we get Donald Trump as President?”

Moving on to the travails of the Democrat Party vs the Socialist Democrats of America, and the nascent rebellion of some of the Inner Circle:
“Those who make conversations impossible, make escalation inevitable.”
— Stefan Molyneux

I’m sensing a trend in quips here.

Steyn (paywalled, unfortunately, and I can’t find an “open” post of the quote.)
I had to do some research on Molyneux, whose name I did not recognize.
He is a controversial figure to say the least.
That’s what you get when you just search the internet for interesting quotes.
