But it came back to, uh, bite him in 2012. The Obama campaign actually had a sum of money set aside to portray Romney as an animal abuser using the “dog-on-the-roof” incident. Then some Romney staffers started putting out tweets about Obama’s dog-eating and he backed off. One of the few smart things the Romney campaign did.

Those of us who believe Obama was born in the US are not at all affected by the claim in his book publicity that he was born elsewhere because it is so in keeping with his character that he would lie about it if he thought it would help to sell the book.
