That was an SNL skit, Al Gore himself mooning around a prop Oval Office for “West Wing”. He seemed self-aware and a good sport about it. But that’s the problem with politicians, they can simulate human behavior when they need to.

Part of the explanation for this idiocy is that I live in far left California Silicon Valley. I admit that I do not know the whole story, but it sounds like something that would happen here.
