Walmart photoed my ID when I bought some WD40. I inquired if it was bomb stuff. Seems its adolescent huffing stuff. Not for long, I suspect.

Couple of years ago, a guy blew up an RV in front of a Nashville telecom switching building. Christmas Eve, I think it was. Propane. The Columbine shooters rigged one which fortunately didn’t work.

I do school kid mentoring. When my guy was in elementary school, I was one-third of the male staff there, one hour a week. Any bad guy would have otherwise been facing the 85 pound maintenance gal wielding the assault mop.

To get back to the J6 thing…. I suggest not exploding was the plan. Left fuzzy details all over the place, figuratively speaking, without the near-hysterical urgency of Getting To The Bottom of This. Left lots of trails which could be pointed wherever desired.

Given the precedent of bomb-makers blowing themselves up, that’s not a bad idea.

Also, very canny of a real terrorist, because (as someone said on another thread), any confirmed handyman (addicted is not too strong a word) has a lot of that material on hand anyway, or so the bomber can claim.

Other innocent people “confess” because their interrogators question them in such a way as to lead them to believe they really did do it (see the psychologist-induced false memories of child abuse back in (IIRC) the 1970s and 80s).
Sometimes that is purposeful by the LEOs (looking at you, FBI); sometimes just an unfortunate by-product of wanting to close a case with the first likely suspect that they find.

Sometimes, the confession comes after serious, deliberate, abusive “interrogation” — hopefully, in the US, not accompanied by physical torture, but it’s been known to happen.

Until the confession is buttressed by additional solid evidence, I would put it to the side.

If so, then it raises the question who ran him?Who trained him to so thoroughly disguise himself?

The only give-away are his glasses. Another observation comes from a neighbor who says he keeps to himself and does not interact with others.

The same source says Cole has very short legs, and that the bomber video does not fit how he walks.

Lots of questions deserving answers.

In it I saw that a purchase was made at “Micro Center,” link below. Wow! Digikey, Adafruit, Mouser, Sparkfun — they’re great, but its a few days, a week for the parts. But to have a place like Micro Center down the block. Ah, my memories of Fry’s Electronics.
