Nor are surrounding Arab states at all likely to help, and they certainly won’t accept “refugees” from Gaza. They saw what happened in Jordan and Lebanon.

So, what has been accomplished is the return of the still-living hostages and many of the dead, and Israel with a much larger security zone around Gaza, and Hamas very substantially damaged, with more limited ability to attack Israel for some time to come.

If the Israelis will be allowed by their crazy Supreme Court to begin executing terrorists convicted of murder, the sick cycle of hostage-taking to get the murderers released could stop, which would be a step forward.
