Depends on what you want and how you ask. I get great advice from ChatGPT on French, my main use of Chat. I’ve caught it a couple times in mistakes. It always says thank you and revises its response.

We are in the Model-T days of AI. No model is perfect. There is a ton of competition. AI is improving as we watch. Relatively speaking, it’s a fairly open field. Neither Google, nor OpenAI, nor X, nor Communist China, nor anyone else has a lock.

ChatGPT is worthless, but I get useful answers from @Grok, and have not yet detected any mistakes. A handy test is to ask an AI who I am, because it’s easy to see how correct it is. ChatGPT spits out a work of random fiction that’s not even internally consistent. Grok gives a reasonably accurate summary of what little is available about me on the net.

Today’s AIs train on all of the internet

And are pretty useless for anything that hasn’t been published. They are also careful about copyright, if a book is out of copyright, you can get the content, if not, you will get what others say about it, maybe some context. And for anything gone, it’s gone. Pictures, comments, other such stuff that has disappeared from the internet is lost to history.

It seemed really odd to complain about India-Pakistan bogarting attention from India-Pakistan. Context eventually got there, but it's an unfortunate choice to abbreviate Israel-Palestine that way with the other precedent right there.
