Rufus, yes, but the Qur’an commands right treatment of others only for fellow Muslims. For pagans, Jews, and Christians, there is no command for fair treatment, but rather for subjugation (for the people of the Book) or annihilation (for pagans). Hatred of Jews is commanded.

I’m sorry, huxley. I have had similar things happen with my oldest friend, going back to childhood. The relationship is tottering along on its last legs and I haven’t decided whether it’s worth trying to talk it over with her and save it. It’s painful and it consumes some of my happiness and peace. But she’s my friend, not my sister. That must be far worse.
