Germany’s conservatives set to lead next coalition, far-right AfD surges

Germany’s opposition conservatives won the national election on Sunday, putting leader Friedrich Merz on track to be the next chancellor while the far-right Alternative for Germany came in second on its best ever result, projected results showed.

Exit polls – not sure what a German majority is, but prospective Chancellor Merz has to cobble ‘together enough seats in the Bundestag to govern among the remaining parties’ – which may not be easy. Not sure if this is Good or Bad for America tho.

I get that. But the local big shots should be vigorously promoting good behavior, to the extent of turning in some nutcase getting ready to go all stabby. Until they don’t need to any longer.

Like, attend the funerals–at least local Muslim bigs–of terror victims. Full-throated condemnation in the op-ed section of the local paper. (Can a Muslim be prosecuted under anti-blasphemy laws in the UK?).

From this side of the Atlantic, it looks like comfortable watching.

There are some widely respected authorities, but they don’t control what any particular imam or group may think or do.

Did follow the Nixon stuff, Reagan, and both Bushes. Liked GW Bush a lot. Heck, had even followed Clinton’s cigar escapades in the Oral Oval Office, and then the Communist takeover by Obama.

Most all seems “batshit crazy” to me. GOP now best buds with Russia!? “Classical Liberals” as a segment of GOP voters!?

American politics are bad enough, so I only notice other countries very little and/or when some elections come around.

When I saw the Germans having an election with far-right AfD in the running I started cheering for Marion Anne Perrine Le Pen to win! Then I notice some woman named Alice Weidel was the German AfD candidate!?!

“Far-right” but married to ‘The Wife‘ who is another woman…GeEz!?! Guess I’m cheering for a gay woman to win in Germany…which is probably better than cheering for some trans woman, me thinks?!?
