Yes, I commented on the fashion thread that Melania in her hat reminded me of Eastwood. I said a spaghetti western incarnation, but High Plains Drifter came to mind as well. Love it!

Executive actions.
I was very surprised to see Trump tackle birthright citizenship. On day one! So it will come down to the Supreme Court (eventually) since the lower courts have been rather clear and determinative on this. neo & I disagree, I think, but the original congressional debate on this amendment was also rather clear in that it did NOT allow for birthright citizenship. Or at least, that the amendment should not allow it.

I was watching some the early live video. I saw the last 2 or 3 people file into the 2nd row of the VIP seating. Wow. There’s Elon, Sundar Pichai, Bezos, Zuckerberg, John Paulson, and other titans. All in one row.

Fanny Kemble married Pierce Butler, who was from a prominent plantation, slaveowning, and political family. Some of their unhappiness was because of differences over slavery. For some reason, there’s a picture of Fanny in the White House collection.
