I don’t think they are going for clever.

In my Hollywood Death Watch I keep running into celebrities, producers and directors all reaching for the same language. For instance, “I couldn’t be more proud” is a constant refrain for whatever woke sentiment they support. I also find it in the Washington Dem world.

IMO they are circling the wagons, using whatever ammunition is close at hand.

Unfortunately they don’t have much ammunition available.

Yes, it’s indeed a common quip in those circles – but so common that it can’t be considered clever even by those misguided enough to believe it’s true.
