Indeed. That comes out in the video also, by inference, as the speaker remarks that it used to be unthinkable to question government statistics (I wonder how much fraud was going on under the table in the past and never disclosed?), and that this was clearly a political manipulation to boost Harris.

Obviously, any cheerful economic posts by the media prior to this revelation are the trash most of us knew they were; we just didn’t have the proof. And a lot of the Fact Checks based on the fake numbers are also disposable.*

Also, so many Trump-hating Dem elites have been lying about how good the economy. They based their falsehoods on the false data — but when officials say false stuff, it’s called lying.

Noah Smit (Noahpinion) & Matt Yglesias come to mind as readable Dems who have been wrong in this.

(Looks like the Republicans are going to have to engage with the Democrats regarding some sort of domestic SALT treaty…though as Reagan—and others, no doubt—once said, “Trust but verify….”)
