The way to Tone Down The Rhetoric is to talk, calmly, with those who disagree.

But my 2 sisters, 1 nephew, 2 nieces + 1 husband (Yonas from Ethiopia), all visited for a week just before election, with little talk of politics. But we’re mostly Republicans (my Slovak wife a Christian Democrat), tho the adult kids are Independents, and likely not wanting to argue.

Good family relationships are more important for each individual family member than national or state politics, and usually local—unless one is in a campaign for election.

Terrible psych advice, especially in this time of loneliness.

I can sympathize with Mattel… at one Israeli hi-tech firm I worked at, the Marketing staff approved a huge order for 4-color brochures.

The product being launched linked voice and email, and was called “Integrated Messaging”.

Printed as “Integrated Massaging”…. one of the native English speakers spotted it a week before the trade show.

Regarding crazy woke relatives… I think many normies should realize that they have dodged bullets… there is no need whatsoever to reach out to these people. Reserve your compassion for those who deserve it.

Every so often I think about contacting my family back in the States – who are all nonreligious progressive NY Jews…. wondering whether now is the time to reach out to the more normal among them…

Cut yourself off from people who love you and might have told you not to be so sure Kamala is going to win or even that it won’t really be the end of the world if Trump wins.
Only believe us. We are the only ones who really care about you. Your family just wants to control you.
If you go to Thanksgiving they will likely lock you naked in the basement with only a Handmaid’s uniform to wear. (It will even fit because while you were still unconscious from being drugged, they stole yours from your house.)

Ok, the last bit is probably a little over the top but the rest just sounds like a cult trying to cut you off from friends and family.
