I did a quick look at the top search results for Trump's speech at the Al Smith dinner. The Regime Media is shocked -- shocked I tell you! -- that he insulted his opponents at the famed dinner.

As Trump himself remarked when he started, the Left is going to deliver fact-checks for his jokes.

They are clearly counting on their readers' ignorance of the traditional format of the gala, where the leading candidates are not only expected but instructed to roast their counterparts.

I think she went on Fox to energize her current base by angrily denouncing Trump in the home field of conservatives.
The "Cackler" was chosen by the demokrat big-wigs as their chosen-one because they are seeking someone who has a good chance of prevailing in the election and when in the WH will do what she is instructed and not ask any questions.
She will be told "sign here," "say this and nothing more," "read this," etc.
The Cackler will not even be required to think (which for her, is a god given talent ).

The media will be instructed to provide all questions in advance for any press conference and they will be forbidden to ask questions not approved in advance.
The media will go along with this - for they too are merely puppets of the demokrat/ Obama party elites.
The media will most likely whisper under their breath that they are being hog tied, but they realize if they step out of bounds, they will be denied admittance into any press conference or presidential affair.
So they will go along to get along.
But they really will not be too bothered about this set up because they know that it is really their God, their Leader, their Fuhrer, Obama, running the show.

The Cackler is too stupid and dumb to formulate any of her own polices and frankly she has no need to formulate any policies.
All will be done for her by Obama and his handlers and like the brainless puppet she is, she will be just fine with this set up.

It will be a sweet deal for her.
She literally will have to do nothing - all will be done for her- and she can jet around the world in Air Force 1 cackling her brains out (assuming she has any brains).

Unlike Joke Bidet who at times can be defiant, cantankerous and probably difficult (are these traits typical of senile or near senile people??) , the Cackler will be totally compliant. She will be the 5 year old child in the WH.

Anyway, there is nothing on earth that will cause Cackler supporters to reconsider who they vote for. Her incompetence and ignorance she displayed (s) as VP or as a candidate for president will have zero effect on her standing amongst her supporters.

Once again, the bottom line: it is the voters of this nation that will be the vanguard in destroying our Constitutional Republic.

As I have said ad nauseam; the greatest threat a Constitutional Republic can face, is the voters, willingly and freely, voting for a national suicide.

My guess is that KH's foundational intelligence was adequate, but she herself has no interest in anything which tests her intellect, so it has atrophied. By some accounts, she doesn't even read her briefing papers. BO I'm guessing is a similar type, but he reads his briefing papers and is more articulate.
==
The smart money says the real bag-o'-hammers is Tim Walz. Teacher-training programs do not select for intelligence, he's never had any subject training even though he was an academic high school teacher, and by the look of him he has a history with the bottle.
==
Please note the culture of the Democratic Party: actual accomplishment is not admired. Have a gander at the Democratic presidential candidates in 2020. They actually fielded a deep bench. Their voters took a glance at Michael Bloomberg and ignored every other person who ran who'd had a career in business and / or experience as a public executive. (The last person out of the military who ran for President in the Democratic primaries was Wesley Clark in 2004). They favored Elizabeth Warren (an academic whose career was advanced through affirmative action fraud), Amy Klobuchar (a corporate lawyer turned prosecutor with a history of abusing subordinates), Pete Buttigieg (a resume with a simulacrum of a human being attached), Bernie Sanders (a complete no-account until he was elected Burlington's 1st Trotskyist mayor), and Joseph Biden (a Capitol Hill tapeworm at the center of a disgusting pay-to-play operation). The worst of this crew was the man who was nominated.

As to Kamala's intelligence - @Eeyore and @TJ - It doesn't really take corruption and I agree that passing the bar exam isn't an infallible indicator of intelligence. I think we're talking about the difference between average intelligence and high intelligence. I doubt very seriously that Kamala is dumber than a box of rocks (i.e., of below average intelligence). But you can absolutely pass the bar and practice law with roughly average intelligence. On the other hand, I believe it is difficult to fully command the issues in a US presidential campaign with merely average intelligence. It is even more difficult when you have to disavow your long-held beliefs, pretend that you actually intend to govern from the center when you don't, and come off as sincere while doing so.

There are also factors at play here other than pure intelligence. Work ethic and inclination are relevant. You can accomplish quite a bit with a high average or even average processor if you use it well. The personality that the good Lord gave you is also relevant. I get the sense that Kamala is lacking in both of those categories. Take her intelligence and package it in an individual with a stellar work ethic and who has been gifted with a compelling personality and that individual would be a far better politician than Kamala.

To Eeyore's point about the interview - I learned from cold, hard experience during the Obama years that I am not a very good judge of political performances. I believed that Obama was awful during numerous debates and interviews only to watch his poll numbers go up afterwards. I thought Kamala was a trainwreck with Baier, but I would not be surprised at all if swing voters believed otherwise. That interview wasn't directed at me.

“She got through law school and passed the CA Bar is evidence. Real bags of rocks don’t manage that.“

Why do people assume we can rule out corruption in that process? Or that law school and the Bar are INFALLIBLE barriers to idiots in the practice?

I think people are treating general indications of intelligence for actual proof of it. In a word, credentialism. I simply do not believe any human system is foolproof.
