How far is Canada swirling down the toilet bowl of history?

Although the police department tried to walk this advice back after a lot of criticism, at a community forum a Toronto police officer suggested that–in view of a recent reported 400% increase in car thefts and associated home invasions–people should just leave their car keys on their front doorstep to “lessen the chances of conflict.”*

Hell, why not stake your daughters out front as well, wouldn’t want any home invaders to be inconvenienced, would we?

Talk about cravenly giving in to the barbarians within your gates.
