The word I heard is that Hur’s investigation will be general and system-oriented. He’s going to look at procedures for dealing with documents in the Obama years and earlier and put the blame there, and let Joe more or less off the hook.

In general the laws on Classified materials do not allow for mistakes. You are not allowed to remove the material. It is not an intent crime. I didn’t mean to is excluded and you have to mean not to. Frankly, this kind of material should not be left in the offices either. There should be rooms where it is and you go there to look at it. You go in with nothing and leave with nothing except what is in your head. When it is left in a place where it can be comingled with non-classified paper it is inevitable that it will be mishandled.

Strange thing about conspiracy theories, though, is that folks have been noticing they’ve become kinda—make that, “real”—accurate over the past decade or more…
