meh. I’m on the fence about whether there’s any point to this. Why take out this guy and allow the Dems the opportunity to replace him with someone whose failures are less publicized and can pretend to stand for different policies while continuing to debase and discriminate against Americans? McCarthy is not a wartime consigliere and this is war. The only up-side is the ability to use subpoena power but without accountability for evasion (by Dems, that is) that’s useless. Biden is clearly corrupt and unfit for office and that can be brought out on the campaign trail. The only winners here are the cable tv channels and the rest of the establishment that likes to continue the fiction of accountability.

I think on the whole this is a good development. The mainstream media will certainly run all the cover they absolutely can for Biden, but they won’t be able to completely ignore the story. They’ll have to actually report on some of the allegations and evidence that will be presented and discussed. Of course they’ll do everything in their power to frame it as either false or, failing that, just no big deal. But they can no longer simply ignore it. They can only downplay or equivocate. This will have a net effect on low information swing voter’s mindsets going in to the election year.

This morning over a Townhall and interesting exchange between a reporter and a GOP rep. Basically the MSM is going to take the line expected line of “no real evidence, and just for political reasons”. As long as the majority of the public hear that, nothing is going to change.

I remain cynical about the whole process.

McCarthy knows he won’t get a conviction by the Senate, but if Biden’s aliased emails come out, Joe would have to resign. If the documents are destroyed or partially destroyed or if release is blocked by the courts, Joe will still be in trouble. I suspect somebody on the team is working on possible exit strategies, even now, as others are fighting the impeachment. Biden has managed to live with these scandals for 4 years now, thanks to a servile media, but if he goes, that makes it even more necessary for the Democrats to put Trump behind bars sooner, rather than later, if they want to remain in power.

People call McCarthy a RINO or a wimp, but it occured to me that if he had spent the last few years saying all the things we now know to be true about the FBI, the CIA, Homeland Security, the CDC, the WHO, COVID, Fauci, Ivermectin, Soros, election fraud, immigration, and everything else, he wouldn’t have survived as Majority Leader. He’d have been labeled a nut, a wild man, and a Russian agent, and his support in the House would have trickled away. People didn’t want to believe the worst about their government and the media discouraged such skepticism. To get and hold high office, one has to be circumspect, and one can’t say all the things one can say anonymously on the internet.
