JJ--

I've come to believe that UFOs are real objects- and very likely objects that are not of human origin--due to a number of their observed characteristics, which have been observed not only by highly trained observers but, more importantly, by various civilian and military surveillance systems--

Speed—measured/calculated in some cases as high as 30,000 mph—not anywhere near what current human tech can generate.

No control surfaces—no wings, no apparent engines, no heat signature, no exhaust, no sound. We humans don't have anything like this.

Maneuverability—the ability to silently hover--sometimes for hours at a time—and to perform multiple darting motions, and instant right angle turns, maneuvers which would generate several hundred or even thousands of Gs (the most specially suited human pilots can currently withstand, before they blackout and have physical damage, is reportedly 9 Gs, the most Gs our best fighter aircraft can withstand before breaking up is reported to be 15 Gs).

Transmedium travel--The ability of the same craft to operate in space, then, travel down through our atmosphere, and, finally to dive into our oceans and travel through them at speeds no human vessels can even come close to.

Energy generation and usage—some of these craft have been observed by military sensors at the top of these sensor's range of 83,000 feet--at the edge of space (and likely coming from a lot further out in actual space)—then diving down to the surface of the ocean in 0.73 seconds.

One calculation is that to perform just this maneuver alone would take the equivalent of all of the energy used by New York City in a year. See the calculations of physicist Dr. Keven Knuth at SUNY at Albany.

I've been looking at the evidence for more than several years now and, the more I look, the more complicated it gets.

There are many possibilities for who or what the beings controlling these objects are:

In the simplest case, we could be looking at beings who are strictly extraterrestrial in origin or, alternatively, beings who originated here on Earth—in very remote times and on a parallel evolutionary track--who are now just showing themselves, or becoming visible to our most advanced sensors, or beings who are human but are products of an ancient, much more advanced prior civilization, or time travelers--beings from our remote past or far future, or beings from a higher, possibly coterminous dimension, beings who are able to slip in and out of our three dimensional world, or they could be something that we would find totally incomprehensible.

We could also possibly be dealing with machine intelligences. See the idea of Von Neumann probes.

From the different reports of close encounters, it also appears that we could be dealing with beings from a number of different species, each with it's own agenda and way of operating; Earth a sort of Grand Central Station in our area of the Milky Way Galaxy.

There are actually a couple of reports of hostile actions against humans, but there are emerging reports—see the reports of Stanford's Dr. Garry Nolan's analysis of medical effects--that people who come in close proximity to UAPs suffer not only psychological consequences, but also detectable physical damage, which is apparently not deliberate.

As for why these beings might be visiting—perhaps our “human comedy” is entertaining for perhaps bored and jaded beings who might be ancient and virtually immortal, or we're Jerry Springer to some Aliens, and videos of our antics a source of revenue, or we have something these visitors want and need—particular elements or minerals, cultural artifacts--Art, music, literature, ancient artifacts, crafts, potential slaves, or they are here merely to observe and not to interfere—a la the “Prime Directive,” or they are totally benevolent and here to to “help” us, or it's scouting now, takeover later, etc., etc.

Jacques Vallee, a very intelligent and acute French observer of half a century UFO phenomena, believes that the many “absurd” activities of UFOs are, in fact, training us, a psychological “control mechanism,” one designed to push human civilizations and consciousness in certain directions.

I am pursuaded that Lou Elizondo, the former head of the DOD's AATIP program, is telling the truth in the things he has said about the UFO phenomenon, and he has warned that we might not be at the top of the food chain as we imagine ourselves to be, that there might be some entities which are higher on that food chain, and possibly more evolved than we are.

Elizondo has also talked about things being "somber," and that we may need to reevaluate our position in the Universe.

As for how any possible crashed, or even intact UFOs, could be transported to wherever they are being hidden at, how many times, on the road, have you seen some large object—covered with a tarp—on a flatbed, passing in the lane next to your car?

(Are you aware that the Federal government has a whole fleet of special trucks which routinely travel our highways, transporting nuclear materials/weapons from one location to the other?)

A multitude of what I believe to be credible testimonies and many decades worth of leaked government documents have also convinced me that there is both a government cover up, and a parallel disinformation campaign.

My UFO story: I was setting up for astro lab on the roof of the physics building just around sunset. It was one of those orange/red glow sunsets. As I was adjusting one of the student 'scopes I looked up to see 3 orange disks in a perfect triangular formation silently, and very quickly flying west. I was shocked and dumbfounded. As the thought passed through my head..."well, I guess I have seen UFOs", from the formation came the distinctive sound of a Canadian goose honk. 3 geese flying in formation at just the right altitude so that the sunset glow reflected off their underbelly and nothing else of their bodies could be seen. Just a perfect set of circumstance.

A guy testifying before Congress is still hearsay evidence. Maybe "they" are here, maybe not. Maybe they know how to make stable wormholes for superluminal travel. I need a real first contact to be convinced "they" are here:

OFOs or UAPs are in the news. Some people have seen things they can't explain. There are rumors of the government having possession of UFO craft with non-human remains. The government remains secretive. So, what gives?

Here's my take:
1. If there are alien craft visiting, they surely have technology we don't. The nearest inhabitable planet is 11,000 years away traveling at light speed. That's a loooong trip.
2. So far, none of these alien craft have attacked anyone.
3. If the government has custody of a/many UFOIs, where were they found and how did they transport them without anyone seeing anything?
4. If the government has knowledge of alien spacecraft flying around Earth, my guess is that they would not want to panic the population by announcing their presence. People are panicked about climate change. How much worse would announcing alien spaceships are looking at us and we can't do anything about it?
5. I spent 38 years as a pilot, both Navy and airline flying. I saw two UAPs during that time. One was the tail cone of a rocket launched out of Vandenberg Air Force Base. I was over Elko, Navada at34,000 feet, heading west at about 1am when suddenly a shiny disc-shaped object appeared dead ahead. It seemed to be traveling at a high rate of speed away from me. It was in sight for about three minutes and then disappeared. I reported it to air traffic control and soon received a report about the missile launch. It was the tail cone of the rocket that appeared to be disc-shaped. It was traveling away at a high rate of speed and soon went over the horizon out of sight.
The other one was a bright green light that appeared out over the Gulf of Mexico when I was night flying officer at NAAS Whiting Field. I sent a pilot up to take a look at it. At 35,000 feet it was still much higher. And it moved suddenly, changing course much more rapidly than a normal airplane. We reported it to Eglin Air Force Base, which was nearby and was known to have sophisticated radars. They reported back that it was one of their experimental UAVs. We didn't ever see it again. End of story.

I think that there are two or three different papers that are typically cited to support the 97% consensus argument. It's been a long time ago, but I've read the papers, thought they were terrible, and never should have been published in scientific journals.

At any rate, I was curious to read Bell's take on the mess, so I searched for the article. I'm pretty sure it was entitled "Yes, The Overheated Climate Crisis Debate Is Settled.
