In my case, he could have chosen not to shank his own party on the debt ceiling “deal”. That “deal” had more House Dems vote yes than Republicans, and more Republicans voted no than Democrats did.

All he had to do was nothing for total victory. Ergo, he did not want the victory. He wanted to see the cronies get paid. Mission accomplished.

Some of us are tired of being played for chumps, and some of us are apparently content to continue to be played. Some of us think it is high time that real effective opposition uses the power it has to effect real change instead of always making excuses for why they shouldn’t even try.

The Dems knew they couldn’t get impeachment through the Senate, didn’t stop them… the Dems know they have to deliver for their base, and the Republicans know they don’t have to.

On another subject, I just don’t know what McCarthy can do to become acceptable to some people. I cannot imagine another political base that derides every leader in the same the way as Republicans (or is RINO a more description?); exempting Reagan of course.

Start lower. Garland and Majorkas are ripe. They’ve both committed more than one impeachable offences. The real problem is getting rid of Harris first. There’s no obvious criminal behavior (now) and it’s hard to argue incompetence when there’s no actual vice-presidential duties to be competent at. (And, fie on the dangling participle rule.)

b) Kevin McCarthy is only interested in the theater of opposition,
c) Too many Congressmen and Senators also have done what Biden has done.

The talk of expunging the Trump impeachments is just to toss the Republican base a bone. Even if it were done it changes nothing and inconveniences no one, and it’s as convincing as the new Bud Light campaigns.

I think Duke is right about the impeachment, and the use of media by the GOP, which desperately needs to up its game in that department.
