I believe that James T Hodgkinson was shot and killed by US Capitol and Alexandria police. Congressman Scalise had security because he was the Majority Whip. If the gun control folks have their way and gun manufacturers can be sued for the criminal and illegal use of the guns they made, can auto manufacturers also be made liable?

Are they going to go down to the new car lot or the used car lot to find a jury of the car’s peers? Does it matter which county the car lot is in, to establish “peer-ness”? The offending car was red-ish — do they have to find 12 red-ish cars or is a color mix acceptable? If any of the jury cars are Tesla’s, will they be charged along with the defendant? [I’ll stop now.]

VDH’s article is very good, but I do want to point out one important fact he seems to have confused. Waukesha is in Waukesha County, not Milwaukee County. Thus, the repulsive D.A. John Chisholm has nothing to do with Brooks’ mass murder prosecution. Waukesha is a red county, though less so than it used to be (still 60% for Trump both elections) with almost all Republican elected officials. A quick Wikipedia search indicates their current D.A. is interim, so who knows about her? Still, Brooks is likely to face much more severe penalties than if he had committed the same act in Milwaukee County
