I read that Trump might be suing Raffensperger for the leak. That would be wild.

I hope it's true, even tho I'm sure Trump won't win. More Reps need to fight even losing battles - to practice fighting and make it clear what the issues are.

I realized he's a knave and supporting a direct attack upon the Constitution. Which also makes him a traitor. Which is also why the media quoted him.
This was just interesting. No speculations beyond the bare facts.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/us-attorney-in-georgia-abruptly-resigns

The top federal prosecutor for the Northern District of Georgia abruptly resigned on Monday.

U.S. Attorney Byung “BJay” Pak previously signaled that he would stay in his position until Jan. 20, Inauguration Day, but that changed after a recording made public on Sunday revealed President Trump complaining of a "never-Trumper U.S. attorney there" during a phone conversation with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

Trump did not specify whether he was talking about Pak during the conversation that was largely focused on election fraud claims.

In an internal email reported by Talking Points Memo, Pak said "unforeseen circumstances" prompted his decision to resign early, although he did not elaborate.

A statement released publicly only expressed gratitude to Trump and others.

I used to consider Becket Adams at least a luke-warm Trump supporter (haven't checked his file to be sure) but he sounds more like the Hot Air / NY Post faction of the GOP here:

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/no-the-media-isnt-taking-trumps-idiotic-phone-call-to-georgias-secretary-of-state-out-of-context
by Becket Adams

This is not a case of media overselling a story or leaving out crucial context, as some of the president’s defenders on the Right allege.

The phone call is exactly as the press advertised.

The president spent nearly an hour this weekend alternately begging and threatening the Republican secretary of state to do something, anything, about the election results in Georgia, which show President-elect Joe Biden won by an estimated 11,779 votes. Trump focused mostly on rumors and conspiracy theories alleging Georgia was stolen via improperly scanned ballots, votes cast by thousands of dead people, and tampered-with voting machines. Throughout the call, Raffensperger, who apparently has the patience of a saint, calmly refuted each charge, informing the president, repeatedly, that statewide audits and investigations have found no evidence of the election chicanery described by Trump and his legal team. The president was unimpressed, maintaining all the while with the self-assuredness of a religious zealot that he is the legitimate victor in Georgia.

Curious how "informing" is now the exact equivalent of "proving" - coming from government officials, which we know from the last four years (and looooonnnngggg before) is absolutely no guarantee of veracity.

At least Adams has enough integrity to link the sources.
However, as with the Ukrainian phone call, people are apparently going to read out of the call exactly what they come into it with.

The Trump phone call isn’t being taken out of context. There is no selective editing going on here. Media characterizations of the conversation are right on the money.

But don’t take my word for it. You can read the entire transcript of Trump’s phone call here. It’s exactly as advertised.

Anyone remember The Dress illusion?
Or any of the standard optical Rorschach tests that are so popular.
That's what Trump Telephone Transmogrification is like.

https://www.inverse.com/article/30103-the-dress-black-blue-white-gold-illusion-neuroscience

Wallisch thinks morning people are more likely to see white and gold because they have the assumption bias that the world is illuminated by the sun (which would cause a shadow) instead of artificial lighting. This finding underlies the fact that we can’t always trust what we see; scientists have learned that when we visually perceive something, our brains fill in any gaps of information with what it already assumes is true. In the case of the dress, perceptions of illumination change our assumptions about color constancy, which can result in widely different opinions about how something can look.

The dress is blue and black, but if you presumed it’s gold and white you shouldn’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing: Take solace in the fact that while others assume the world is lit by artificial lighting, you still think of it as illuminated by the sun.

Substitute hearing for seeing above.

Just for fun:

"As far as the present Trump call goes, I’m going to assume it was leaked by the Raffensperger forces. But there are some people who think that Trump had his reasons for recording and releasing it. I really don’t see that, but who knows?" - Neo

Nothing definitive yet, but take a look at three posts from the Washington Examiner. (in separate comments)

What does he mean by "as well"?

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/georgia-gabriel-sterling-trump-phone-call-election

A top Georgia election official said the hourlong telephone call between President Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger over the weekend was taped "out of an abundance of caution" because the president "doesn't necessarily characterize things as they might have actually occurred."

"I'm sure the president's side recorded it too," Gabriel Sterling, a Republican, said during a Monday afternoon press conference at the Capitol. "They might have been the ones who leaked part of that as well."
...
Sterling added that he "screamed in my car at the radio" when he heard the audio of Trump's conversation with Raffensperger.
...
An exasperated Sterling also delivered a blistering blow to Trump's lengthy list of voter fraud claims, rebutting each grievance.
...
Sterling said, as he has numerous times in the past, that the secretary of state's office has investigated the claims and did not find a single ballot cast illegally in those categories.

He added that "this is all easily, provably false, yet the president persists and, by doing so, undermines Georgians' faith in the election system."

Remember that Mitchell & Meadows challenged the Georgia officials to produce the proof of their investigations, and they blatantly refused to do so, after having stonewalled prior requests for information not publicly accessible to Trump's lawyers.

Neo - “Once Trump is gone from office – which I do believe is likely to be happening this month – one thing I will not miss are these leaked ‘gotcha’ phone calls, whereby the MSM declares him finished, criminal, and/or hopelessly corrupt, and then once any objective person has a chance to actually listen to the call or read the transcript it becomes clear that this is a mischaracterization of what Trump actually said.”

But the venal liars do not disappear, despite the lack of evident lying. Media is deeply, cynically corrupt and cannot ever again be trusted.
