Zeke Emanuel, who will be one of those telling China Joe what to do, thinks that the vaccine should be distributed to the rest of the world first.

Is this because he really thinks the vaccine won’t work and wants to protect the American proles that as taxpayers helped fund this in Operation Warp Speed? This is the guy that thinks once you reach age 75 you should be given the “red pill” (or blue, I forget which Obama said) and allowed to die. He has also said recently that at 75 you should not be given a flu shot. Of course he magnanimously applied the 75 age to himself too. On that I wish him Godspeed.

Oh yes. My county in CA is roughly in the middle of the pack of CA counties for Covid cases. But we get stuck with the lowest state rating, used for re-opening purposes, because of a poor equity rating. The county has its beautiful wealthy communities and its middle class and poorer agricultural communities and latter have a much higher incidence of Covid cases. This must be an economic disparity situation!

Except that there are a large number undocumented immigrants in those Ag. communities which we know travel back to Mexico and Central America with great frequency. But those travel contacts are not traced.

Are blacks and Hispanics affected/infected more by Covid than whites? Maybe. I’ve read that vitamin D is such an important factor for one’s innate immune system, that anything that leads to less vit.D could be a factor. Darker skin will reduce the amount of sunlight reaching the part of the skin than produces vit.D.

On the other hand, I noticed that a few months into the epidemic the worst region of the greater Los Angeles area was West Hollywood (predominantly Caucasian), whereas East LA (where blacks and Hispanics live) did much better. But don’t talk about that and muddle the “equity” narrative.

Washington State decreed that when a vaccine is available that the especially vulnerable will be vaccinated first, and after that it will go on the basis of “equity” — i.e. blacks and Native Americans supposedly are more affected by Covid (but not fatally, according to the State’s own figures) and therefore will get priority access.
