Aggie, no it is not apparent the virus is re-surging. As even the NYT reported in late August, which no one paid attention to, the PCR tests can yield positives that are not indicative of an active cases. If the testing company sets the threshold for cycles too high it can detect RNA from dead virus….ie the person may have had the virus, or at least been exposed and immediately defeated it months ago, and now with testing is listed as a new active case.

I have a graph showing tests vs date along with new cases vs date…perfect correlation over the last 2 months of tests and cases.

Here in CT yesterday we had the highest number of new cases since the beginning and a record number of new tests. Of course the governor is expressing “concern” about this new surge and is threatening to shut down the state again. At the moment he is leaving up to the towns, but I expect by Monday CT will be back in lockdown…..and wonder of wonders…just in time for the election. I predict tomorrow or over the weekend calls will come forth for election postponement, or only mail-in voting.

As one scrolls down the page, it’s apparent that the disease is re-surging, but also quickly evident that new cases are the most extreme, dramatic illustration of this. Bad News! But while other parameters – hospitalizations, number of administered tests, and deaths also show increases, they reveal that these are to a far lesser degree than the initial pandemic wave.

One can see that the Positivity Rate for tests is holding steady, while the number of tests administered are still on a rising trend. I interpret that as good news.

Don’t forget to take your Vitamins C, D, and zinc. And don’t forget to administer your Vitamin V by Tuesday!

As of this morning the number of new active cases has now exceeded the June level and is now higher than anything seen since the beginning in February. Does anyone really believe the pandemic in the US is worse now than it was 8 months ago????

You got that right Neo. The remark I referenced above that I should be rounded up and disposed of came after myself and another fellow gave a lot of data and links regarding the virus. The leftist refused to look at any of it as he already made up his mind and hates Trump and blames him.

It’s a losing gambit from a desperate team. One needs simply to go to the widely available data to compare to other countries, or to fact-check the assertions about this one. All one has to do is review the data-set. Some parameters taken in isolation will make things look dire, others make things look over-optimistic. If one is fact-checking a story, see how the quoted parameter is being played.

Most people understand the insult when Trump is being blamed for a worldwide pandemic that he handled well. The insult is against the intelligence of the person who is assumed to be too stupid to recognize that.

I check the Texas data daily. More clinical testing programs have resulted in more positive tests; but there are fewer deaths, fewer hospitalizations. Losing gambit.

I had an exposure to infection last week, tested Tuesday: No COVID, thankfully. The local center is administering about 45 – 50 tests per day.

The problem with the strategy of blaming Trump for COVID is that Europe (excluding Sweden, of course) now looks much worse than the US, as can be seen here, for example.

Good News from Minnesota: A comment on a story in CTH — (KARE is a Msp news radio station)

“BREAKING: The U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals has struck down Minnesota’s seven-day extension for absentee ballots, saying all absentee ballots must now be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3. – KARE”

MSP STrib (very poor paper) confirms story, but with different spin.

If Trump carries Minnesota, odds are he’ll win the election. But the court battles will be interminable. Thank God for Barrett.

Today I had to fill out a Covid Contact Tracing form to buy a cup of coffee and sit in a cafe with social distancing, then later to buy take-out at a restaurant.

I suspect All Things Covid are part of the Democrats’ campaign, but I doubt this stuff will go away any time soon after the election. I think authorities like the control plus it’s making the right people richer.

But a lot of people who can’t afford it are getting clobbered.
