Of my six grand kids, my grand daughter ‘Cat’ started speaking when she was 9 months old, here first words were “Cute Shoes” and her second was the word spoken very clearly “Baby”. Now she is getting ready to turn 17 making excellent grades, especially in math and science in one of the top schools in Dallas and all of my grand kids are my favorites. I am an old man and I love spending time with babies for about five minutes whereas my wife can spend hours with them enjoying them just for who they are.

Neo, I did. I don’t know whether the baby was actually trying to sing along or just imitating the singer’s facial expressions, but the enthralled look on (his?) little face was priceless either way. There’s something about watching the wonder and joy with which babies discover the world around them that makes it all new again even for grandmas like me. I mean, the beauty and sweetness of singing really is a wonder. How come we so rarely notice that?

And yes, the singer has a very pretty voice.

Yes, I did. I introduced my nephew to cheese strudel when he was 1yo. Same look on his face! Now he’s 25yo and about to be married.

The effort to learn, with joy, is part of the miracle of human creation, even at age 4 months. That infant brain has already learned a lot, a huge amount, actually; including the automatic inversion of optical images to turn bottoms up and tops down, to see the world correctly instead of upside down.

If you think all this came from evolution in bubbly eons in organic chemical soup, you need to think some more.

Try the book, “Foresight”, which reduces the extraordinary intricacies of biology and chemistry to terms comprehensible by STEM-illiterate liberal arts majors. I’m just into it, and the now dreaded word God has not yet appeared.
