One of the more shocking allegations is that Ilhan is not an Omar. The claim is that Ilhan’s family split or splintered and a portion successfully sought asylum in the U.K. using their real surname. Ilhan and a sibling of hers sought refuge in the U.S. using chain migration to the Omar family (already in the U.S.) which is not her real family.
