Your blog has "error establishing database connection" repeatedly today. I was lucky to get a post in but it took about 25 refreshes to get your blog up.

John Guilfoyle,
I hope we don't start with Roe vs Wade. I would rather see SCOTUS send messages to lower courts that their ruling will be held to constitutional standards. It might improve our legal system at a grass roots level. Let Roe come when it comes, and let rulings be based on the law.

Also, Graham was great, and I loved all the attacks on DiFi. At some point, I hope someone asks her what the Chinese spy might have leaked.

"I intend to vote for you, and I hope that everyone who is fair-minded, will."

Home run finish to a great few minutes. All the Reps will vote yes; perhaps more than a few Dems.

Kavanaugh is possibly the most saintly nominee that Trump could have chosen, moreso even than Gorsuch (who was also pretty clean, tho).

Part of the purpose of creating a Hellish process, is to keep decent Reps away from accepting a nomination.

A few days ago I watched Judge Kavanaugh interviewed on Fox News He was not impressive. Today I watched him become a man in full. He was open, courageous, deeply angry, and yet compassionate. No matter what happens going forward (I believe he will be confirmed), this is a man with a family that will persevere and continue to be fine citizens - the kind that most of us want to be. I am encouraged by his willingness to fight for his honor and by President Trump's steadfastness in standing with him.

Senator Graham also grew in stature today. He once was a middle of the road, reach across the aisle sort of guy. The cunning plans of the Dems have become clear to him and he has joined the fight alongside the President. I wish him well and am encouraged that other Republicans will begin to join up.

Today was a big day in American politics. I think we can take heart that we are trying to pull back from full Banana Republic status.

Capn Rusty:

I've read that over the last year or so Graham and Trump have gotten friendly. Maybe that's why some of Trump's straight talking style has rubbed off on Graham. Combined with Graham's polish and lawyerly skills, it's pretty darn good. I also think that the Kavanaugh attacks have shocked Graham to his core. He's spent his life being collegial, and he finds it hard to believe how vicious the Democrats have become on the personal level.

I saw him being interviewed tonight, and he made it clear that political fights, and even dirty political fights, he can handle. But this was an attempt to destroy a good person for political ends. The personal ruthlessness of the Democrats got to him.
