I won’t hold my breath. My opinion of average humans isn’t all that high.

Ever since 2007, I would come browse the online blogs and comments, to answer the question I asked myself “has Americans woken up yet”. And every year, the answer is no.

As for 2015, 2016, and the Red Pill Alt Right movements… that is like waking up while still sleep walking. It is not full awake. They don’t know even half the things I know.

That was what Breitbart, the person, tried to do. To break into the Alt Media by creating his own networks.

Of course, he died, and the Alt Right just treats Breitbart the way the Left treats NYTimes. As another gatekeeper.

Americans, of all generations, treated the journalists as a 4th or 5th branch of the government. They are not a branch of the government, they don’t use their powers to hold anybody in gov accountable.

The idea of the American people that reporters would get to ask the President questions, and that they would serve as intercessors and gatekeepers between the people and the government, was quite foolish.

Even the expectation that there is a “rebuttal” of some kind that will come from the media, is incorrect. One should have zero expectations out of them. It would be better to expect Soros to ride in and report on American news, than it would be to expect American journalists to do so. Of course, Soros already did that, he just didn’t tell people.

There’s also a connection here with today’s post on the “slap in the face leftist assumption” because none of us who have experienced it have the guts (“bad manners”) to stand up and walk out.

Walking out or ridiculing their behavior is not all that hard. At least for those of us that have programmed out own Rules of Engagement.

They cared enough to complain about it, yes. I have heard many of these complaints over the years. What they don’t do is to destroy the enemy. They complain about media bias while using the media. They complain about the culture wars, by giving Hollywood money and then complaining about Hollywood poison.

However, I think you are correct that those who DO know don’t push back hard enough.

Of course, when the media that would (supposedly) publish said rebuttals is abetting the liars, that is hard to do effectively.
Looking at the posts and comments on the Emmys, maybe some of that is changing.

Humans only do things in an organized fashion if there is leadership. No leaders, and it is just a bunch of random mobs.

If people really cared about an issue, they would kill the enemy. But they weren’t killing the enemy, just complaining about media bias in Iraq.

America’s problem isn’t the lack of sources of information. America’s problem is that people are used to gatekeepers telling them what is going on, rather than learning how to connect the dots themselves. It’s similar to religious people who have to quote various little verses of the bible as if it was their raistron de etre and vocabulary databank. They can’t talk about the stories, narration, and concepts in their worn words, they have to copy one liners out of context.

The media is their context. Without the media, they would not be objective or neutral, but just out of touch.

I think Americans do care, but they just didn’t know how much lying they got on the news: so few alternative sources, and most of them were “suspect” because they weren’t The Press, The White House, or The College Prof.

The youths after my generation, would not be so much up in arms if it was just the news. After all, the US has been lied to by Cronkite 3 network news for how long… so long as the BS is profitable and packaged nicely, Americans didn’t really care.

What became the weather on the camel’s back was the culture wars.

The Leftist alliance themselves are merely cannonfodder for more powerful factions. And the SJWs are just the Left’s cannon fodder for the frontline, like zombies.

This is an onion rather than a simplistic black vs white scenario.
