There was a movement afoot to change my 150 year ( in NE, so we have old schools) High School s mascot which was a very noble rendition of a Mohegan Brave. It was never made fun of or disrespect,ever. In fact it was probably the only exposure that us children of immigrants ever saw of a Native American & it was most positive. Happly that student newly arrived from the ME, was shouted dowmn in his effort. OF COURSE he is done there and moved on & 150 Yr old tradition is safe.
