I suggested to someone that the dress Joy Villa wore represents far more courage than these celebrities who like to pat themselves on the back for speaking truth to power (a phrase that always makes me a bit nauseous) when they criticize Trump. She is speaking truth to power in the form of going against intense social pressure to hold a certain set of approved political beliefs.

There’s an old joke:

A guard at a diamond mine sees a man leaving the mine with a wheelbarrow full of sand.

He combs through the sand and finds nothing.

This is repeated several times, over several days.

Years later, the two meet again, and the guard asks :

“What were you doing with all those wheelbarrows full of sand ?”

The other man says :

“I was stealing wheelbarrows”.

The moral is, if you don’t ant people to notice something, give them something else to look at.
