Nick gave me an idea. I tried writing a reasonable short paragraph which was not too outlandish, concerning the piece of spam in question and my impression thereof, then ran it through several iterations with Google Translate, going from English to Greek to Danish to Thai and back to English.

The product of that process was insufficiently amusing to me, so I continued through Hebrew, Tamil, Russian, Arabic, Vietnamese and then again back to English, whereupon this came out:

Intruder seems to be little understanding of the language of the actual content. It is impossible to reconcile the beauty of the model, and therefore believes that it should reflect the mood of the transplant. We continue to emphasize that this is not possible, regardless of all the technical updates, smart, and I do not think it's up to us to do it in this section. So give us a good reason!

... which is mildly funny to me, but really not quite what I was talking about in the original. The thing is that Google Translate seems to get close enough to the original meaning after all those iterations that I can't find the end product humorous enough. Oh, well.

Keep giving us a good reason, Neo! :)

I was listening to NPR the other day, and they were marveling over some crappy artificial intelligence generated poetry. It sounded like what I "ketchup bottle poetry": you read the label of a ketchup bottle and imitate the serious sonorous voids of Maya Angelou, you will skid like you're reading "meaningful poetry." The stuff the radio was crap -- and the marveled over it!!! I was thinking, "Let's hear how it fits Yeats..."

This spambot is better, I think.
