I have trouble believing that most Americans think their neighbors suck (with a few exceptions in my neighborhood). Sure, they think that professional politicians suck, which is pretty much true. I mean, what kid grows up thinking, “I’d like to be a politician”? Well sure, there are the Elsworth Tooheys among us who have no skills at producing anything of value, so they decide to manipulate other people in order to survive. Generally, I don’t think most people are evil and just don’t rate politics very high on their day-to-day priority lists. This is a mistake.
