It seems the solemnity of Memorial Day has been completely forgotten. But I’m just a “military brat” not a veteran.

A moving song. Whatever one thinks of country/western, it seems to be the only genre where patriotism and respect for the military are allowed.

Today I’m especially remembering six squadron-mates that didn’t come home. Stout-hearted men, one and all. They are part of a line of men and women that stretches from this very day all the way back to the Revolutionary War.

We must honor their memory by trying to do all we can to protect and promote freedom. It is such a precious thing and can slip away too easily.
