If you are a normal person and you grow up in a traditional so to speak household with gender separations, but you end up in Hollywood or come under the influence of a Hollywood big shot… The chances of you not getting screwed up somehow, is difficult to say.

The point of this post—and what makes Allen’s behavior narcissistic—was not the respective ages of Soon-Yi and Allen. It was the fact that Allen had a sexual relationship with the daughter of his girlfriend and the sister of his children (Ronan, Dylan, and Moses Farrow). This had profound negative effects on the family, effects he has never acknowledged and has in fact denied.

The entire point of the post has to do with the emotional damage done to Farrow and her other children by the fact that their father Woody Allen (for three of them) or their stepfather Woody Allen (for the others) was having sex with their sister.

I’m still not sure who on this thread you are referring to, though (although I haven’t gone over it with a fine-tooth comb). I wouldn’t doubt there are people out there, however, who criticize Allen because of the age difference or the ethnicity/race thing, but the great majority of what I’ve seen out there focuses on the outrage of the familial relationship rather than those aspects.

Once again, I’ll reiterate that the criticism I’ve seen here and offered here is for him having an affair with the daughter of his girlfriend and the sister of his children, and then discounting that fact as of no importance or meaning, and ignoring the pain and disruption he caused that family, which included children who were legally his children (that was the case with two of Farrow’s kids—Allen had co-adopted Moses and Dylan with Mia Farrow, and the child then known as Satchel—now Ronan—was thought to be his biological child at the time and was legally his child).

First of all, Lennon got TONS of crap for yoko (although not from me). Crap of all kinds—a lot of fans hated him (and her especially) for what they saw as breaking up the Beatles, her lack of talent, her looks—-all sorts of things, including her race (if you Google, it’s out there; I don’t want to link to it).

The other point is that Yoko Ono was not the daughter of Lennon’s previous girlfriend. Nor was she the sister of Lennon’s children.

All my criticism of Allen involves the fact that Soon-Yi was his girlfriend’s daughter and his children’s sibling, and the effect their affair had on the entire family. As far as the rest is concerned, I literally could not care less about her ethnicity/race, and her age (as long as she was an adult when it began) is not my concern either.

Nor, by the way, have I seen criticism of him and Soon-Yi for her ethnicity/race. I would imagine it’s out there somewhere, but it certainly isn’t the focus for most people critical of him.

God doesn’t exist in Hollywood. Rapists and child molestors, however, do.
