Thing that strikes me is that comedy is naturally individualistic, therefore in a deep way it’s conservative. Rock is making a case that we could make in a more serious tone. I don’t think they’re as funny when they pushing a leftist meme (Joan Didion, among others, noted that Leftists are a humorless, grim-arsed bunch.)

One thing: during all my years in the ER, there was never a patient who said the cops beat him up who WE the staff didn’t want to beat up within about 15 minutes or so.

Example:
The cops beat me up.
Where do you hurt?
I want you to x-ray every single bone in my body.
Well, where do you hurt the worst?
I’m gonna sue their ass, and I might sue your ass too. I told you, I want you to x-ray every single bone in my motherfuckin’ body.
