For donuts (cake only: I’m a purist snob about that), I’m a coffee guy, or – when I’m feeling particularly hedonistic in the late afternoon, during that transition time between the bean and vine, I’ve been known to dunk in a glass of Merlot.

…to my wife’s horror (though she’ll dunk chocolate covered biscotti in a good Cab’ with absolutely no apparent sense of shame).

Put cooked waffle on plate. Put bacon atop waffle. Put egg over bacon. Pour maple syrup over all.

Yummy.

…prob’ly pretty close to the same thing taste wise, and “close enough” texture wise.
