Your article eats at me, hard. I did survive my youth, I didn't live it. I learned hard things, bitter things, and how to still be me without succumbing one way or another. And for that reason, I hated appeasers and 'bleeding hearts' for the longest time. More often than not they sided with bullies, even groups of them, against those they sought to victimize. Especially when one such as I would not kneel, yield, surrender.

I surrendered the hate, but not the disrespect, distaste. Peace is not worth surrender. Compassion for the warped should not supersede justice. Personal and business associations, and preferences, should not be above what is right. I wondered though, how many who seemed to be justifying evildoers had merely surrendered to it? I suppose I will never know. Have you seen the "gays for sharia law" group? Yeah, that's going to work out well.

I have, pretty much, given up on America. Mostly because from what I can tell, America has given up on itself. I can, and will, fight. I won't kneel. I won't just surrender. But I also won't go against the mob, not directly, not alone. I'll merely slip away and let the mob eat itself. I just hope I can heal in time to sneak out the back door and let the cannibalism that is coming destroy only the cannibals... and those who have engendered the behavior. I have no interest in being mugged again, again, again. Nor can I kill that many. Nor would I. If it comes to that, this is no longer my home and yet just because I am Rome, I will not do, always, as the Romans do.

...at the risk of not piling on (and in recognition of my personal idiosyncratic conversational quirks lol), I just chalk it up to artfldgr's style, and read past the sometimes hyperbolic "tone" if you will (tone on the 'net is hard to communicate well-or-at-all, and easy to misinterpret).

He does present an interesting perspective at times, and includes a wealth of obscure stuff - often with links - that are interesting in-and-of-themselves. Especially on rainy afternoons.

...oh crap, did I just display a tendency to smooth over things? What's that called? Really, I'm not that thing.

I just find him interesting as himself, and I ignore any lack of social graces in his style (and in most people, not just artfldgr). JMTB.

Why not, as I have said several times, just offer your information without the insults and the assumptions about what people care about and don’t care about, and know and don’t know?

One time artfldgr included a reference to a work by C. Wright Mills. Because I wasn't sure why he referred to Mills, I asked him why he did so. artfldgr's response was to give a lengthy explanation about Mills, with the underlying assumption that I didn't know jack about C. Wright Mills. I replied that I had several of his books on my shelves. Moreover, family friends had known C. Wright Mills from his grad school days, long before he was prominent in his profession. Courtesy of my family friends, by the age of 18 I had read my first C. Wright Mills book- his propaganda screed Listen Yankee in support of Fidel Castro.
sharpie:
In essence, when a student or a whole class of students fail, it’s because the teacher failed to communicate because he was limited by his “whiteness.”

From my experience in teaching at a minority and poverty school, I would say that there IS some truth to that assertion. Blacks tend to have a more confrontational, a more in-your-face kind of communication style than whites do. When many black students see the more mild mannered communication style of a white, they see this as a signal that this teacher can be played. And in my case, they were correct.

I had a problematic student whose mother was a teacher's aide in another school. He once made the remark that his mother was a lot harder on problem students than I was.

[He flunked my class. There was pressure from the principal to pass as many students as possible, but from my experience, students tend to work and behave better when they get at least one failing grade. If I had to do it over again, I would have handed out more failing grades in the beginning of the year. Like the old line about the farmer hitting a mule on the side of the head to get its attention. No, I am not advocating actual physical abuse.]

This does not mean that all black teachers succeed with black/minority students with a confrontational style. A teacher on my team had nearly 40 years of teaching experience. She was mild-mannered, but she knew which buttons to push to make her students behave.

North Korea Sets Deadline For Diplomats To Leave: Next Wednesday

The next phase of brinksmanship.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/north-korea-orders-diplomats-leave-april-10-article-1.1308491

http://www.buzzfeed.com/rosiegray/north-korea-sets-deadline-for-diplomats-to-leave-next-wednes

Thank god that the atheists, gays and women will defend us!!!! and i can stay in the basements and play Nintendo till they are done... OWS will fight to save us, no?

He pushed to allow gays to openly serve which caused some military personnel who held on to their Christian values to resign.

Obama pushed his gay rights initiative onto military chaplains, forcing them to perform same-sex unions and marriages, even though it was against their religion

this is great for morale, i hear the LGBT community will be handing out lesbian porn for the women, gay porn pin ups for the men, and bela abzug nudie posters for the heterosexuals.

Obama is now pushing to extend benefits to the unwed gay partners of military personnel but not to the unwed opposite sex partners of military personnel

Obama then attacked the retirement program for the military making it less desirable for people to give the country twenty or more years of their lives

Troop and weaponry reduction was next on Obama’s list. Through his edict, former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta began reducing the number of active military personnel in all branches. Ships, planes and other equipment have also been reduced in numbers.

Obama has also been weeding out those top military leaders that refuse to say that they would shoot fellow Americans if ordered to do so.

“I have just been informed by a former senior military leader that Obama is using a new ‘litmus test’ in determining who will stay and who must go in his military leaders. Get ready to explode folks. ‘The new litmus test of leadership in the military is if they will fire on US citizens or not.’ Those who will not are being removed.” Dr. Jim Garrow

One has to wonder if this had anything to do with President Obama’s dismissal of Marine Corps Gen. James Mattis from his post as commander of the Central Command

Word on the national security street is that General James Mattis is being given the bum’s rush out of his job as commander of Central Command, and is being told to vacate his office several months earlier than planned.”

http://freebeacon.com/report-obama-ousting-centcom-chief-mattis/

Supposedly due to military budget cuts and the sequester, the Navy has delayed indefinitely the refueling and reconditioning of two air craft carriers.

he also made sure that most of them were all docked next to each other so in the event of trouble, the enemy wont have to chase them down, they can get them all in one place (a man from hawaii didnt learn from pearl harbor?)

Obama created and signed into law is the cutting of tuition assistance to active military personnel. This has been a large draw to get young men and women to enlist, but without it, those enlistment figures are sure to drop

According to the HHS, the poverty level for a family of 3 is $19,090 a year and a family of 4 is $23,050. Active military personnel make just enough to keep them barely above the official federal poverty level,

you should see how he is gutting science...

do you thiknk that he will be able to make 100,000 stem teachers when there arent enough people who can do basic math to get a factory job in the US?

Open borders are more dangerous than just immigrants.
it lets in spies, malcontents, criminals, and one can drive a 150 lb nuclear bomb into the US...

did one of the 11,000,000 carry one?

remember the caches? mitrokhin revealed some, they were found, and many were either blown up or removed... (They were protected with "lightning" triggers)

how many people in our schools, and other places are not who they seem to be. like hassan nidal... how many leftists will sabotage self defense efforts?

I am just curious if someone can do a realistic assessment with another conclusion (my conclusion is that we should never be in a position to wonder nor to not be able to do anything about it. this is regardless of whether they act or not.. i feel safer when they cant act at all, not that we live next to Krakatoa and dont know when it goes off)

anyone other than me realize that the second bernanke tries to do his, scoop up the money before inflation happens, we are going to have a bond run that will really slam us?????????? i guess they need an outside excuse to blame so that when that happens we dont tar and feather them... (and when we have to give up, it will be bush fault anyway).
