I've checked that 'track' out... It heads to Atlanta -- NOT Austin.

I have no idea how a track that run north of LA somehow got inverted into an attack on Austin.

My guess is a typo got started... and spread like wildfire.

So the Samsung theory is pure bunk.

As to why Atlanta... It's known worldwide as America's capital of Coke -- ( c.f. Rodman ) and, hence, Un put it on the list. "Un-Coke logic" if you will.

How to treat the Norks? Well, the way I see it is that they are basically a pseudo-mafia outfit that tries to shake down better heeled countries. They can't feed themselves, they have minimal electrical supplies (Ever seen that space shot of the Korean Peninsula at night?), they don't have large supplies of petroleum products, and their huge army is badly dated. It's a bit like meeting a thug who tries to shake you down. The thug is four feet tall and has a wooden gun. You are six five with a loaded 45 in your shoulder holster. In spite of your advantages you try to placate him by giving him some money. Then he keeps coming back for more. And you keep giving in because you want your neighbors to think you're a nice guy.

IMO, we have made a mistake by trying to buy them off. We should have told them that we weren't going to give them anything and we would not hesitate to wipe them out if they touched one hair of South Korea. Then ignore them except to keep our missiles and bombers ready to go.

We have let this stunted midget of a country blackmail us because we are afraid of "international opinion." We have let the UN, and other nations (China and Russia) that don't wish us well, cow us into paying blackmail to these pipsqueaks. We also have a bunch of PC pols in the democrat party who would rather walk stickly and carry a big soft than to walk softly and carry a big stick.

Maybe Kim is a real nutcake. Or maybe he is trying to placate his generals. Whatever, I would just have the missiles and bombers ready. No more talk, no more blackmail.

It's been said for years that the Norks have ten thousand--generally means a whole lot if not exactly accurate--artillery tubes and artillery rocket launchers in range of and pointed at Seoul.
See "redleg rumba" to see how fast those things can be fired by a trained crew when you don't care about ruining the barrel.
Not hard to hit a city, and since one hit is as good as another, you don't even have to adjust or check aim between shots.
Seoul is on the border.
The Ui Jung Bu (sp?) gap runs south to Seoul and north into mountains and noplace special. Militarily, it's a one-way street.
The ROK can expect to lose Seoul to at least 50,000 artillery rounds and rocket warheads.
So if it gets to that, I don't think the ROK will be in a compromising mood.
