An analogy I used with my children in their teens was don’t use a shotgun to kill a fly, use a fly swatter.

Disparate impact might mean something if all else is equal. But in real life, all else is never equal. And never will be. And can’t be legislated. And, deep down, everyone knows it. And will react to these attempts to do so accordingly.

And then the people attempting to swat a fly with a hammer will be surprised by the results.

I just hope Obama does nothing. Nothing at all–neither supports nor condemns Israel. This looks like a test case, the first opportunity to see how his foreign policy as a second-termer is going to play out.
