So now we know. The Russian cargo ship that performed an about-turn in the North Sea after losing its British insurance cover was indeed carrying weapons bound for Syria. Three newly serviced Mi-25 helicopter gunships, ideally suited to combating insurgents, were on board the MV Alaed, along with an advanced air defence system. As such, the vessel would have bolstered the military might of President Bashar al-Assad’s bloodstained regime. So our Government was right to stop its passage by withdrawing its British insurance policy.

But Russia’s swift response speaks volumes about its true policy towards Syria. Yesterday, the Kremlin made clear that when the MV Alaed docks in Murmansk, the ship will be reflagged under the Russian tricolour and sent back to complete the delivery of a lethal cargo. Previously, the vessel had been sailing under the colours of the Dutch Antilles — a classic flag of convenience — meaning that Britain could have executed a legal boarding operation simply by securing the permission of the Dutch government. Now, any such manoeuvre would amount to direct, and perilous, defiance of Russia.

The Kremlin’s decision shows, once again, that Russia is in no mood to reappraise its support for Mr Assad’s regime. Barack Obama spent two hours at the G20 summit in Los Cabos trying to persuade Vladimir Putin of the moral bankruptcy of Russia’s position, yet Moscow’s evident determination to furnish a dictator with attack helicopters betrays the harsh reality.

oh,
and here comes the world war i said was coming and all part of the design, if you have actually read what THEY read, not what they give you to read.

we have a mig 21 defector to jordan...
(so now, either jordan has a mig21, or they give it back. does the US and others get to look at it? )

we also have syria shooting down turkish planes.

so perhaps turkey is now being drawn into the conflict...

how good will obama do?
how good will biden do if obama is out?

Lebanon's Hezbollah-owned Al-Manar television station said on Friday that Syrian air defenses shot down a Turkish military aircraft, quoting Syrian security sources. "Syrian security sources confirmed to a Manar correspondent in Damascus that Syrian defense forces shot down the Turkish fighter jet,"

and

the British government effectively blocked a Russian cargo ship, MV Alaed, from transporting a shipment of “refurbished” attack helicopters from Kaliningrad to Syria’s port of Tartus, where Russia maintains a naval base.

Under sanctions announced last year, the European Union has banned not only exporting arms to Syriabut also providing related services such as insurance. Undeterred by Assad’s brutal crackdown on the 15-month-old uprising in his country, Russia, states The Telegraph, intends to comply with the stipulations of a 2007 contract by which it will supply 20 MiG-29 M2 fighter aircraft toSyria.

the Russian Navy is preparing two amphibious landing vessels, Nikolai Filchenkov and Caesar Kunikov, at the Crimean naval base of Sebastopol.

Nezavisimaya Gazeta uggested that the soldiers would be drawn from the elite Pskov airborne brigades and special forces units stationed in Chechnya. Voice of Israel, moreover, alleges that the Russian commandos intend to escort Assad to a safe asylum inRussia.

seeing the start of the convergence of this and a huge number of other things... too big to make a case with narcisists wanting short entertaining tracts, there was, and is no way to illustrate it.

they HAVE to experience the horrors otherwise
and as prior generations.. learn the hard way
and then be ignored by what children remain

Dubai-based Al Arabiya TV reported that Russia, China, and Iran, were planning joint exercises in the war-wrackedMiddle East country. The drills were apparently to consist of some 90,000 ground, naval and air forces, as well as 400 aircraft, 1,000 tanks, and Russian submarines, destroyers, and the Kremlin’s sole aircraft carrier.

“This is absurd,” scoffed Igor Dygalo, aide to the admiral of the Russian Navy. The report said thatEgypthad allowed 12 Chinese warships to navigate through the Suez Canal with the intent of heading for Syria.

sorry, have to go, i have some strange dresses to look at in the other thread, its much more important than world war, and stopping it... :)

there is another aspect i think people are missing....

in such a situation, once declared there is a presumption of validity for the EP.

Ive explained before that our system allows great evil for short periods as part of how it works.

but note, who gets to look over the material, and decide what belongs, what doesn't belong, and so forth? and then after that, who decides whats admissible or not from that?

that is the person or persons that are being worked on now (dialoging to consensus).

without such a colluding person in place, crying EP would not work...

so the surprise in the cake may be the reviewer and such are in their pocket, so will review and neutralize the issue. and give it the patina i said was critical for them - the appearance of or actuality of some form of legitimacy.

what would have happened to the abortion rulings if someone wasn't going to invent penumbras?

i should also point out that james bond 007 may have had a license to kill..

but that makes us forget about who can issue and take back such licenses..

The hits an admin takes in using EP are frequently pretty serious. Presuming this "insane clown posse"--a term I find hilarious--is reasonably competent, their considered judgment is they'd rather take the EP hits than the document hits. Which, naturally, makes what's in the docs probably pretty awful.
Another blogger suggested that, if this were designed to gin up outrage over guns to support restricting gun rights in the US, then dead Mexicans were necessary. If there were no Mexicans killed by these guns, the project fails.
We have dear friends in Mexico, known them for, starting with my wife's spell as an exchange student, better than forty years, working on the fourth generation. I'm ashamed to talk to them.

A. McCarthy knows the basics, the fundamentals: the truth doesn't lie.

So, when the defendant doesn't want to produce documents, you don't need to go very crazy in your suppositions. Occam's razor works very, very well, here. They don't want to produce them because they are very incriminating.

As they hiss and wiggle and condemn and rear up on every pedastal possible, remember what the core issue is: why won't they produce the documents. Will the documents endanger our national security? Yeah? How?

The real reason may be tied to the connections of Mexico with North Korea, Iran, and Afghanistan.

The real reason, of course, is that the effort was meant to subvert our 2cnd Amendment but the collateral damage of exposure is the tie of Mexico to the foreign drug, slave, and sex trade.
