I think Toy got it. I just got progressive lenses and am the same age as Sarah Palin. And made almost thr same choice in glasses–bothe the previous non-progressive and the new ones.

I know it cheezes off the liberals, but Sarah is a trend setter and she’s just moving to a new style to make a new trend. The old look was great, but the new look is softer and less sexy, which is a good thing.

Personally, the less she covers that great face, the better, but we’ll see how this one grows.

The big rims have been getting to be more and more in style lately. In some ways, the more ostentatious, the better. I certainly don't understand it at all... Personally, I prefer the older style. I'm a fan of the thin frames if for no other reason than that the wearer is less aware of them. As an aside, if you're interested (and I know she played basketball, so maybe she's been paying attention here?), this is a trend that has been popping up a lot in the NBA in the past year or so. The more obnoxious, it seems, the better. Personally, I don't get it, and like Charlie said, they can take my thin rims "from my cold, dead hands"!
