foxmarks: I don’t have time right now to find the links—but actually, the evidence is that people who use artificial sweeteners tend to gain weight rather than lose it. There’s a lot of theories as to why; they’re not exactly sure. But the evidence is there.

I understand the amusement, but every good step is a good step. The sweetener *does* save 12g of simple sugar. The salad *does* offer a great amounts of genuine nutrients, even when swimming in ranch.

Righteousness and persistent self-delusion are problems. Better habits are not.

I’d like to suggest re-education camps for greenies. Where they’ll be made to do horrible things like throw soft drink bottles in the regular trash and use 100 watt bulds in all their light fixtures.

It could be liberating.
