Geert Wilders and I have a lot in common in how we view Islam. While, as Churchill said over 100 years ago, individual Muslims may show splendid qualities, the religion itself is a strongly retrograde force that inhibits any sort of personal or societal growth. In other words, the problem with Muslims is Islam.

I am particularly disgusted by enablers in the West who refuse to call Muslims on their primitive, criminal behavior. In a just world, the Norwegian judge who acquitted the Muslim of rape because the victim’s attire “provoked” him would be repeatedly prison-raped by Muslims until he understood it was the rapist’s fault, not the victim’s. Without such enablers, we could easily manage any danger emanating from the Muslim world. But with them, we have to fight a two-front war, as it were, with a corresponding increase in peril.

Art, just FYI. The Brits have referred to anyone from the Indian Subcontinent as “Asian” for generations now. It’s not a recent P.C. thing. Those from farther to the East, like Chinese, they refer to as “Chinese”, or Korean, or whatever their country of origin might be.

The cancer is alive and growing over here as well. Recently, we saw the mayor of Dearborn MI peddle the notion that there were “free speech zones”. To my knowledge, he wasn’t strung up on the spot for this attempt to pickpocket us of the 1st Amendment.

If these kangaroo courts such as preside in Europe are in our future, then we must make sure the judges fear us more than they do their noisy and volatile proteges.

Here’s a case where Continental Civic law worked but having your fate in the hands of Judges not a jury is tough.

Anglo Saxon Common law still provides more protection against this kind of prosecution.

As Neo noted, they have a different take on freedom of expression in EU land. Same goes for Canada & Australia. However, as Occam notes, the left is all for their freedom of speech and all for denying it to those who oppose them. We have ‘hate speech’ fully enforced on our own college campuses. We have ‘hate crime’ laws. We’re not so far from the Netherlands after all.

The Euros are doing it to themselves all over again. It may be a sex-linked genetic disease–on the X chromosome. All those wars, all those lost Y chromos. It’s been a good while since I was last in Europe, and I’m never going back. But it’s in our gene pool now too.

I am not so sure rejoicing is the proper response. Wilders was found not guilty–after a long and expensive defense. The next public figure who wants to make similar points will not help but at least consider if the game is worth the candle.

This does dhimmitude progress slowly but progress it does. I don’t think the Dutch would have any trouble finding Muslims who make hateful statements about Jews, but I’m not holding my breath until one of them is indicted.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that if someone were to make a public statement that the Pope is the antichrist (or worse), that’s not a problem in the Netherlands.
