I've only received a few comment spambots in my entire blog history (14 months). But I get SEVERAL pathetic phishing emails each DAY informing me I have just won a considerable sum of money - almost always in British pounds. I think I'm being stalked by Austin Powers' evil twin.

"As for why you never get them: just lucky, I guess."

Probably volume of traffic to the site.

I get only a handful of spambots (as compared to neo), but I'll bet the few hundred visits per month at my site amount to a few hours on her's.

So, drop by once in a while and help to overcome this tragic disparity. :-)

jerry dodge: they don't come through email, they come as comments at the blog. They are usually dumped in groups, sprinkled throughout old threads (almost never on new ones).
