Well you have to consider the percentage who disapprove of congress because they haven't been radical enough. And 2008 proved that 53% can be convinced that sunshine and lolipops flying out of politician's butts is not out of the question for them.

It really hits home that there are precious few people in America who can keep their jobs without even pretending to do their jobs. Tenured professors, unionized civil servants and teachers, and Senators/Representatives, lead the list.

They insult us time after time; and for the most part get away with it. So here we are in another election year budget cycle, confronted with a self-generated crisis to meet a manufactured deadline. Oh, ho hum. Business as usual. The insult is that they actually believe they can fool us with all of this melodrama. The sad reality is that, whether fooled or not, there is no pay-back for this behavior.

I expect the 13% are just the completely unconscious zombies who share our world. That number suggests that there are fewer of them than I would have guessed.

Who are the 13 percent? Some of them are those who fall into a common trap: the one that whispers, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Congress has been Democrat for the past several years (too lazy to count), so for many of those who detest conservatism and/or Republicanism (whatever that is), Congress is their friend.

And many of us here wish to avoid falling into the ideological mirror image of that trap -- that anyone who detests liberalism (or, at any rate, what liberalism has morphed into since, say, JFK) must be okay with me. Lousy reasoning! -- although the trap is much more emotional than reason - based.

When I was in the Navy we used to joke that there was always that 10% that didn't get the word. Obviously in this case that would be 10% with a margin of error of +/- 3%.
