Having been very put off by Karl Rove's nonsense Tuesday night, and having heard her talk to Tammy Bruce on the radio a couple of times, I was inclined to think that the complaints against O'Donnell were comparable to the treatment of Sarah Palin. But unlike Palin, where no real scandals have been uncovered, and who has only gotten stronger and more candidate-wise since 2008, O'Donnell does seem to have some basic personality flaws that bother me. I do not think it is enough to say she's "trying to pay back" her former campaign workers (and maybe with the million or so that she's raised, that whole situation can be put to rest); it rings hollow to me, especially since her adult life has been spent in the frivolous media and running unsuccessfully for office. Also, that she's at this so-called values summit this weekend I find very troubling. THAT SAID, the bearded Marxist seems an equally flawed candidate, and perhaps O'Donnell will be steadied somewhat by the campaign. To me, the main issue of the Congress is repealing/replacing Obamacare and reining in this monstrous debt that has been building up for two decades. So, I'm for her, as the bearded Marxist can only be worse, but I can't get very excited about defending her when she gives me nothing to battle with. Rove's a creep, I think, but his point of view may have some merit.

O'Donnell has now raised more than 1.6 million in less than 72 hours. That is enough to hire some professional campaign staffers and get some media advertising in a small market like Delaware. If the tea party follows through by doing those things they're good at: grassroots solicitation of contributions; manning phone banks; and doing door-to-door GOTV, then Christine will win.

Random thought that I had today: Many people get their health insurance renewal notices this time of year. I've heard from 4 friends so far on this. All 4 had sticker shock at the increases. This can't be helpful to the dems.

Beverly: I just took a look at that Obama-losing-it piece, and I'm suspicious. Not that I don't think that some of what's in it could be basically true, but I'm suspicious of the source. Very anonymous, and also very pro-Hillary.
