One more thg: There is a Tea Party in Philly tomorrow and I'm going. My first time ever at any event political.

A crowd in public is always noticed. The longer and louder it hangs around the more it has a chance to be revolutionary. That is what revolutions are - crowds shouting in public until regimes change. Check out: Berlin Wall, Romania, Tiennamin, Iran, Georgia, etc.

Get out there and shout at the bastards - and make sure to let them know that that is exactly what they are - Bastards! We are wll past the time of being nice in any way at all.

Only the States can really reform Congress. No way it writes laws to reform itself. Besides, Congress does not follow the laws it writes as it is.

The States are as corrupt as Congress. They are now part of the Animal Farm formerly known as America.

My best recommendation is to pray the Rosary daily. The Lady at Fatima said to do it and that it would work for Russia. It took 60 years but she was right. I'm doing it and it can't hurt and can only help - since the real rock-bottom problem is that collectively we have lost our faith, our spirits, our souls. This is why we produce the leaders we do. Our Congress and President - who are monsters - come from us. Therefore....

My last recommendation: Start being vocal in public, around friends and co-workers and in the public square about how much you oppose Obama. Half of this is that it is a "fashion". We may be able to change the fashion by speaking directly and critically against it. people don't want to think they are squares.

J.J. formerly Jimmy J.

Maybe a shorter way to specify this in your reform bill: Neither house of Congress shall exempt itself from any legislation it writes or passes.

Whatever they foist off on us citizens, Congress should share in. Taxes, health care, retirement, you-name it.

From a friend of mine. I happen to agree that this is a good plan. Let's talk it up!

Congressional Reform Act of 2010

1. Term Limits: 12 years only, one of the possible options below.
A. Two Six year Senate terms
B. Six Two year House terms
C. One Six year Senate term and three Two Year House terms

2. No Tenure / No Pension:
A congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security:
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund moves to the Social Security system immediately.
All future funds flow into the Social Security system, Congress participates with the American people.

4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan just as all Americans.

5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

6. Congress looses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

8. All contracts with past and present congressmen are void effective 1/1/2011.
The American people did not make this contract with congressmen, congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators. Serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

I know a lot of people are kind of joking around with their ideas, but I really would like to see a real discussion of real alternatives (short of tarring and feathering politicians or sticking their heads on pikes).

My support for nullification is a good idea, I believe. It would start the ball rolling toward a constitutional crisis. Other good ideas are from Mr. Frank, above at 5:00 pm.

We need some aggressive investigative units into the corruption of the Congress. This will cost a lot of money, and there should be some kind of fund that we can contribute to.

This year I didn't give money to any of my usual charities. I usually give money to our local Jewish United Fund, but this year I sat on my check-writing hand for two reasons: (1) to punish Jews for supporting the Big Zero, and (2) to get charities used to tbe idea that their money is a product of the health of the economy. I used to contribute to various environmental funds, but they are all tainted right now.

So, if a good "Save our Republic" group--an ACLU-type organization that exists to PROTECT American liberties--I will have some extra funds to give to them.

It is an interesting commentary on the times that this blog has long since taken on the character of an underground resistance. Considering we now effectively have a one party government that conducts business without regard for the public will led by a self-anointed elitist who, given the opportunity, favors leftist tyranny over democracy (see Honduras) the term fascist would seem to fit.

There is an Israeli saying that a paranoid may have real enemies. We can all be certain this Healthcare bill is a trial balloon for things to come if they are not stopped.
