It’s a fabulous article, both because it graciously admits that the naysayers were wrong, and because it points out that they’d rather hate Bush than admit reality and move into the future. (So much for the “reality based community” to Left speaks of so proudly.) If there’s an un-Fisking — that is, a post that doesn’t critically deconstruct, but approvingly breaks down an article — I did that over at my blog.

BTW, I admire you for continuing with the New Republic. I still force myself to read the NY Times, the LA Times and the WaPo on line, but I do so because they’re free. I don’t feel comfortable funneling money to news organizations that are stuck in a time warp.

Peretz didn’t like Indyk’s support for the peace process, so Peretz claimed in TNR that Indyk was actually a spy. The FBI launched an investigation, and found nothing.

Peretz runs a magazine funded and staffed by right-wing Republicans. The fact that he praises Bush is as credible and surprising as hearing Rush Limbaugh do it.
